Winmau is originally a British manufacturer of dartboards and dart equipment and has always been the main sponsor of the oldest darts tournament in England: the Winmau World Masters.
Winmau was founded in 1945 by H.A. Kicks who used his demobilization bounty to produce wooden dartboards.
Much later Nodor's patent on sisal dartboards expired, Winmau capitalized on this and started producing paper dartboards and sisal dartboards.
Winmau was taken over by competitor Nodor in 2002.
The production of the Winmau dartboard has moved completely from England to Kenya, Africa.
The complete collection of Winmau darts is now also produced in Kenya.
The Winmau Blade 5 is widely used by dart clubs, clubs and national dart federations. This dartboard now also has an expanded version: The Winmau Blade 5 Dual Core.
Winmau has been the main sponsor of the BDO (British Darts Organization) for a long time, also responsible as the official dartboard supplier of the “The Lakeside World Championship” formerly “Embassy”. Winmau ; “The Force Behind Darts.”
